At the V Young Scientists Congress, held from November 25 to 28, Betuvax (part of the Artgen Biotech ecosystem, a Skolkovo resident) presented its innovative development — a treatment for cat allergy, "BTX-003". The project attracted heightened attention from thousands of exhibition attendees and guests.
The Congress brought together a record number of participants: approximately 8,000 scientists from 88 regions of Russia and 1,300 foreign guests from 90 countries. More than 60 leading universities, companies, and research centers are showcasing their achievements at the exhibition. In the medical cluster, Betuvax's booth became one of the most visited.
"BTX-003" represents a new approach to treating cat allergy. Exhibition visitors, for many of whom this problem is extremely relevant, actively inquired about the drug's mechanism of action, its differences from traditional ASIT (allergen-specific immunotherapy), and its expected market launch timeline. A frequent question concerned the possibility of applying this technology to combat other types of allergies — to dogs, food products, and plant pollen. Company specialists confirmed that the platform allows for the expansion of the product line.
"We are observing significant social demand for such a solution. Many visitors were not just interested but persistently expressed a desire to become volunteers in the clinical trials of our drug, which indicates a high degree of trust and an acute need for new effective treatment methods," representatives of Betuvax noted.
The booth was visited by Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and Denis Sekirinsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Addressing the young scientists, Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized: "Here are gathered the most talented and ambitious scientific minds of the country. You are our scientific foundation, the guarantee of the country's sustainable development." The Deputy Prime Minister also noted the goal of increasing spending on science to at least 2% of GDP by 2030 and called on businesses to actively participate in this process.
Betuvax's development clearly demonstrates how Russian science responds to specific challenges and creates products that are in demand on the market.
