Artgen Biotech announces the launch of Artgen Seed Fund, a venture capital fund dedicated to investing in healthcare startups.
The fund will focus on pre-seed and seed investment rounds, supporting projects that have developed product layouts, prototypes, minimum viable products, or are in the early launch stage.
The fund's size will reach up to RUB 150 million over three years, with Artgen Biotech's plans for annual growth, including through investor recruitment.
Artgen Seed Fund will provide investments to startups on favorable terms in the form of unsecured convertible loans. Particularly successful projects will be eligible for acceleration support through the Artgen Biotech ecosystem.
Artgen Seed Fund's investment focus includes early-stage projects in artificial intelligence (AI), medical decision-making support systems, digital health, longevity, personalized medicine and diagnostics, gene therapy, oncology, and neuroscience.
"In our country, there are various government support measures for startups and early-stage developments, but private capital, especially from institutional investors, rarely provides seed or angel funding," comments Artur Isayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Artgen Biotech. "Our fund will help talented and ambitious developers navigate the early stages, from an idea to an MVP, and take their first steps toward market entry." The Fund aims at selecting and financing up to ten of the most promising projects each year. The Artgen Biotech team possesses unique business experience and industry expertise. At the first stage, we plan to finance projects with its own funds but we already see interest of other investors in our expertise."
Investment projects will be selected through a competitive process. Applications for project funding can be submitted to seedfund@artgen.ru, including information about the team, product, market, and intended use of funds. Applications can also be submitted through a special form on the Fund's website.
